Boulder, Colorado.

was recently named Assistant Editor of the Journal of the Fantastic in the Arts.
He is currently writing essays for the new edition of the Magill’s Guide to
Science Fiction and Fantasy Literature.

Alex’s short fiction has appeared in a number of publications, including the
Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. His first novel, A Scattering
of Jades, was published in 2002. He was a finalist for the John W. Campbell
